I recently had the privilege of attending the Seattle launch of a new organic vodka from the makers of the Grey Goose brand, American Harvest. The event was held at Re:Public, a classy, sexy restaurant in the South Lake Union area of Seattle, a perfect location choice by the Harvest team.
I was greeted at the door with the Harvest Welcome Punch, a lively Campari citrus punch, reminiscent of an adult orange soda. The rest of the cocktails were available at the bar for order, in full size, a nice touch from the otherwise sample size cocktails found at liquor events.
My two favorite drinks were the Ameri-tini and Moscow Mule, both great for spring & summer! Here are the recipes:
Ameri-tini (American Harvest Classic Martini):
- 2 1/2 parts American Harvest
- 1/2 part dry vermouth
Combine ingredients in a cocktail glass, add ice, stir for 45 seconds. Strain into a chilled martini glass. Garnish with a lemon twist (or olive).
Moscow Mule:
- 2 parts American Harvest
- 1/2 part lime juice (or squeeze of 3 lime wedges)
- 4-6 part ginger beer
Combine all ingredients in a glass, add ice and stir. Garnish with a lime wedge.
- A list of all the signature drinks created for this event. Shoutout to the Sonics with the “Kemp & Payton!”
- A new organic spirit, from the makers of Grey Goose!
- A delicious drink that tastes like orange soda, sweet without too subtle fennel and herb notes.
- Wow! An amazing martini with almost no alcohol flavor, showcasing how smooth this vodka really is. Slight floral and herbal notes. A deliciously dangerous drink!
- A lime, slight ginger flavored fizzy drink, similar to a lemonade or limeade. Very refreshing!
- Loved the blue uplighting.
- The food was delicious, including this bacon cheeseburger with arugula and aioli.
- A tart, slightly sweet drink. Strong grapefruit bite, like a calm greyhound.
- A beverage very similar to a red wine based sangria, but not too fruity.
- A lineup of all six signature drinks from the event.
American Harvest vodka is handcrafted in small batches from organic American winter wheat, certified organic ingredients and water from deep beneath the Snake River Plain, produced in Rigby, Idaho.
They are now available in all 50 states, at Total Wine World, BevMo and coming soon to QFC & Albertsons. The best price seems to be at Total Wine World, at only $27.99.
I recommend grabbing a bottle and experimenting for the summer! Cheers!
