This past week, contestants from across the USA attending Tales of the Cocktail were challenged to create a cinematic masterpiece in the form of a drink. Los Angeles Bartender Nathan Burdette won with his spicy, beer-based cocktail, “The Spaghetti Western”, inspired by the 1966 film “The Good, The Bad and The Ugly.”
Dressed in a poncho, cowboy boots and hat, Nathan’s skills and flair captured the attention of critics and audience members alike. As a career bartender, Nathan recently relocated from Cleveland to LA, where he is now tending bar for The Bazaar at the SLS Hotel, in Beverly Hills.
As the winner of the 2013 Mixing Star Finale, Nathan will be flown to Italy where he will debut his award winning cocktail to the real film critics during this year’s Venice Film Festival.
Here is his cocktail recipe.
