An infused vodka recipe can add a lot of flavor to desserts or cocktails. Your base spirit-usually vodka, white whisky, or another neutral spirit-will set the tone for a really great infusion recipe. Choosing a high quality spirit that is smooth, clean, and lacking in harsh heat or burn will allow the added flavors to shine. Try this spicy, floral, sweet recipe for cinnamon vanilla vodka in a S’mores martini, chocolate pot de creme, a fall dessert, or instead of rum in your favorite eggnog!
Cinnamon Vanilla Infused Vodka Recipe
- 1 bottle (750 ml) Azzurre gluten free vodka
- 9 cinnamon sticks (high quality is best!)
- 3 vanilla beans, washed and cut lengthwise
To make the cinnamon-vanilla vodka:
Pour out about 1/4 oz of the vodka to make room-make a martini! Add the cinnamon sticks and vanilla, recap the bottle, and store in a cool, dark place. Shake the bottle 3 to 5 times a day, for 1 week. Check the taste-if it’s to your liking, it’s ready. Strain well through a cheesecloth or fine strainer; discard the cinnamon sticks, and reserve the vanilla beans for a later use. The infused vodka will last for at least 3 mos.
