Margaritas are on everyone’s mind this week with Cinco de Mayo looming on the calendar. If you’re imbibing for the holiday, try kicking the menu up a notch beyond nachos or cheesy queso dip.
El Agave Restaurant in San Diego shared with us a cocktail recipe for the holiday, and recommended pairing traditional dishes like Mexican sopes (fried savory corn cakes-get the recipe) and chorizo (Mexican sausage) to enhance the naturally sweet and spicy flavors in tequila, creating layers of flavor your palate-and guests-will surely enjoy.
Cucumber foam (use an iSi or whipped cream canister)
Cinnamon sticks
Dry sesame leaves
Shake all ingredients with ice, and strain into a cocktail glass filled with ice. Top with a cucumber foam and garnished with cinnamon sticks and dry sesame leaves.
