#1 – Chocolate (Cadbury) Eggs
The recipe is incredibly simple! The molding takes some time and patience, but if you’re not concerned about looks, these chocolate creme filled eggs are easy to crank out, and possibly more delicious.
Chocolate Filled Eggs
- 170g (1/2 cup) light corn syrup (or golden syrup if you’re across the pond)
- 58g (1/4 cup) butter, room temperature
- 375g (3 cups) confectioner’s powdered sugar (icing sugar)
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- yellow food coloring
- 1 (12 ounce) bag milk chocolate chips
See the instructions and ideas on chocolate egg pops here.
#2 – Homemade Marshmallow Peeps

- 2/3 c. water, divided
- 3 (1/4 oz.) envelopes unflavored gelatin (found by the Jell-O at the grocery store)
- 1 c. granulated sugar
- 1 c. light corn syrup
- pinch of kosher salt
- 1 tsp. vanilla

#3 – Chocolate Bunnies
This recipe from Jacques Torres for Epicurious gives tips on how to create a beautiful molded chocolate bunny. He recommends sticking with a modern plastic mold, and trying out your skills at least once before presenting this candy treat to guests. It’s a messy, challenging process, but well worth the effort once you get it down.
- 4 ounces cocoa butter (optional)
- Food coloring powder (optional)
- 2 pounds bittersweet chocolate, tempered

Chocolate Bunnies – The Easy Way
This particular chocolate bunny recipe is super simple and easy to make. It only calls for three ingredients, allows for freehand ‘drawing’ of the bunny (versus molds, which can require a bit of skill), and you could easily substitute with any thin, round cookie to change up the flavor combination (We’re thinking Girl Scout Samoan or Thin Mint!).
Ingredients
- Chocolate Almond Bark, melted
- Vanilla Wafer Cookies
- Mini Marshmallows
See the instructions for chocolate bunnies here.
#4 – Jelly Beans
- 1 1/2 cups plus 1/2 cup water
- 2 1/2 cups plus 1 cup sugar
- 1/2 oz. gelatin
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 cup juice
- Cornstarch
- Vegetable oil
- Jelly bean pans (molds) or cookie sheets
- Saucepan
- Stainless steel pot with lid
- Wooden spoon
- Cooking thermometer

#5 – Robins Eggs
Last on our top 5 Easter treats list is the Robins Egg candy. We love this cocoa dusted white chocolate truffle recipe from Rook No. 17.
Robins Egg Truffle Recipe
- 9 oz. semi sweet chocolate, finely chopped
- 1/2 cup heavy cream (not “whipping cream” or “half and half”)
- 1 Tablespoon butter (this makes the truffle silkier)
- 10 oz. white candy bark
- Blue food coloring
- 1 Tablespoon cocoa powder
Equipment
- Baking sheet or tray lined with wax paper
- Cool, damp cloth
- Candy dipping fork
- a fine sieve
