If you’re familiar with beer in Seattle, you’ve heard of the Pike Brewing Company, or you’ve seen Charles at an event, slinging pours from his gleaming silver backpack. (I hope he returns to Taste Washington this year.) But you’ve probably never had their barley wine, Old Bawdy. And don’t be fooled by the name – to those who have never heard of barley wine, it’s a type of ale, so you know it’s going to be delicious.
Held at the Museum room at The Pike Pub, Pike Brewing is hosting a Old Bawdy Barley Wine vertical tasting, covering vintages from 2006-2012. At $20 for tickets, it’s a steal – and a chance to say you know way more about the local beer scene than your friends who have no clue what barley wine is.
Tickets are $20 if you RSVP by 1/10, and $25 at the door, or $15 for Pike Pub Club/WABL members. Reserve your spot by emailing tshuttleworth@pikebrewing.com or calling (206) 812-6604.
Thank you, Pike Brewing Company! Can you save us a glass?
