Red Wine and Chocolate in the Yakima and Columbia Valleys – Saturday, February 16 and Sunday, February 17
This annual event held over President’s Day weekend provides a distinctive and elegant pairing of fine chocolate and wines from the Yakima and Columbia Valleys, as well as Red Mountain. Over 52 participating wineries provide a variety of chocolate delicacies to enjoy with their red wines. Premier Pass holders enjoy specialty wine and chocolate pairings, library tastings, and tours that are unavailable to the public. Passes are $30 online, or $35 at the door.
Visitors looking for overnight or weekend accommodations may choose from three Red Wine & Chocolate hotel packages: “Red & Breakfast” at Clarion Hotel (rates start at $89), “Red Wine & Chocolate Package” at Best Western Ahtanum Inn (rates start at $99, or $149 for a suite) and “Red Wine Special” at Holiday Inn Downtown Yakima (rates start at $120). This two-day winter wonderland event is packed with activities the whole family can enjoy including a huge snow castle, world-class professional snow sculptures, live music, food, fireworks, Torchlight Parade, Kid’s Carnival, and snow sports competitions for kids as well as adults. Kids participating in ski or snowboard racing events must be chairlift riders, ages 5-12. Admission is free. 2nd Annual Central Washington Custom Car and Cycle Show – Friday March 15 – Sunday March 17
This event, presented by Renegade Raceway, will be held at the Yakima Convention Center in Downtown Yakima. This is a judged event featuring Car Clubs, Street Rods, Antiques, Muscle Cars, Roadsters, Low Riders, Imports, Racecars, Choppers and Exotics. Show hours are 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. Friday, 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday. Admission is $8 for adults, children under 12 are free.
