Love is in the air.. blah, blah, blah… no one has time for the luxury of long romantic notions. Gluten free vodka-soaked dark chocolate covered strawberries are created in a flash by simply using a silicone ice cube tray – no fuss, no muss – genius!
To make the process easy, we used Casabella Silicone Big Ice Trays, designed to make 6 cubes, the perfect quantity for an intimate date night. Casabella Silicone can easily transition from dealing with -58 degrees F temps (-50 degrees C) to 500 degrees F (300 degrees C) without losing shape or flexibility. The size of the cups was perfect for fitting a plump strawberry in with a rich chocolate base.
Follow the steps below to quickly create your own dark chocolate covered vodka strawberries to enjoy any time you want to serve up a romantic treat.

Select your chocolate – Chocolate itself does not contain gluten but many chocolates do contain gluten from additives or via contamination from the facility they were produced in. Be sure to check the labels for filler ingredients like malt or dextrin and when in doubt, select a certified gluten free chocolate brand.
Soak your strawberries – layer strawberries at the bottom of a bowl. Pour your Gluten Free Vodka over the strawberries until they are fully submerged. Allow strawberries to soak for a minimum of one hour. Ideally, soak the strawberries overnight the night before making dark chocolate covered vodka strawberries. Remove strawberries from vodka and shake off excess alcohol. Set alcohol aside or sip while making your treats. The slight essence of strawberry in the vodka is a delicious twist!
Melt the chocolate – Using a double boiler (or microwave,) melt chocolate until fully melted and smooth. Add 2 tablespoons of Gluten Free Vodka to melted chocolate, stir until fully incorporated.
Put it all together – Pour melted chocolate into the ice cube tray, filling each compartment about half way. Set one vodka-soaked strawberry into the center of each compartment. When tray is full, set inside refrigerator and chill for one hour (or until chocolate is fully set.) Pop the dark chocolate covered vodka strawberries out of the silicone ice cube tray, serve with a glass of Gluten Free Vodka and enjoy!
