What better way to stay cool this weekend than with a cucumber cocktail? Jalapenos might add heat on the tongue, but the spice will increase perspiration, cooling you off on the outside. Cucumber hydrates, and of course, who can say no to a great tequila! We chose Bonita tequila for this one. It’s a splurge, but smooth, floral, and perfectly delicious.
Demitri’s Margarita mix, in both traditional and skinny, is brand new and freshly launched at this year’s WSWA Convention, and one of the best margarita mixes we’ve tasted. If you can’t get your hands on it, try lime juice with simple syrup, or a little stevia instead.
Cool As A Cucumber
Ingredients (1 serving):
- 2 oz Bonita 100% agave tequila
- 2 thin slices fresh jalapeno
- 3 slices peeled organic cucumber
- 1 ounce Demetri’s skinny margarita mix (or fresh lime juice)
- *1/2 ounce simple syrup (equal parts sugar to water)
- 1 slice of cucumber unpeeled (for garnish)
- 5 ice cubes
- sea salt (for rim of glass if desired)
Directions:
Put jalapeno slices, cucumber slices and simple syrup in a cocktail shaker. Muddle to break up jalapeno and cucumber. Then add lime juice, tequila and ice. Cover and shake vigorously. Pour into a chilled glass with a salted rim.
If you prefer a frozen cocktail, we highly recommend BlendTec’s new Wild Side Designer Series Blender. With it’s powerful motor and unique blade, the Wild Side saves time, whipping ice into the finest shave. We’ve seriously never seen a cocktail happen this fast.
