Draft cocktails are one of the hottest trends in the beverage world and to help prove it, Tales of the Cocktail® is offering $10,000 for the best draft cocktail recipe (you read that right —$10,000!) as part of the Tales of the Cocktail® 10th Anniversary celebration. Bartenders are invited to submit their creations to our Tales on Tap Cocktail Competition, and to show us why their recipe is the ideal cocktail on tap. This cocktail Competition is hosted by the Tales of the Cocktail® and sponsored by DRAMBUIE Liqueur.
“We’re always excited about the next thing in cocktails. Right now, draft cocktails is it,” said Paul Tuennerman, Co-Founder and Chief Business Officer at Tales of the Cocktail®. “This competition will prove that a great-tasting cocktail can come from anywhere. Including a tap.”
Judges for the preliminary competition and live finale contest at Tales of the Cocktail® will be Naren Young, cocktail guy at The Daily and Saxon + Parole, and Art of the Drink’s Anthony Caporale. Young and Caporale will pick three finalists to compete head to head at Tales of the Cocktail®.
Join us as the three finalists serve samples of their unique cocktail on tap and at Tales of the Cocktail® 2012 during the Tales on Tap Tasting Room on Friday, July 27 from 2:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Carousel Bar Lounge. Tales of the Cocktail® cofounders Ann and Paul Tuennerman will present the winner’s check.
Bartenders’ draft cocktail (large batches of pre-made cocktails served in draft form) recipes will be judged on the basis of taste, originality, presentation and creative take on the cocktail on tap created within the guidelines on TalesoftheCocktail.com. All recipes will be due by midnight on Monday, July 2, 2012. Entries will be capped at 75, and will be judged on a first come, first served basis, so submit your recipe today!
