This Hot Buttered Rum Yams Recipe is the perfect side dish for your turkey regardless if you bake, glaze, rotisserie, deep fry, or serve it in a soup. Enjoy!
Holiday Yams Recipe
2-3 lbs yams
- 1/2 cup dark brown sugar
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup dark rum
- 1/4 lb lightly salted butter
- pinch of cinnamon
- Cut yams into large cubes and boil or steam until fork inserts easily. Place in a casserole dish.
- In a small saucepan over medium heat combine heavy cream and dark brown sugar until blended. Pour in rum and simmer while stirring until sauce is smooth, thickened and reduced. Once reduced, stir in the butter until melted. Pour over yams.***
Bake in preheated 425 degree oven for 15 minutes.
