Recently the team at CraveLocal was asked to review a new spirit brand on the market, LeSin Vodka.
LeSin is a Super Premium French Vodka, distilled from deluxe grain wheat and spring water from the famous Gensac Spring in Cognac, France. Artisanally distilled along the banks of the Charente River, LeSin Vodka is made without the addition of any sugar during production.
In spite of the somewhat campy slogan, “Live LeSinfully”, we were impressed with the quality, palate, overall presentation and mixability of this super premium spirit.
Priced at an affordable $24.99-28.99, we were initially struck by the smooth, buttery mouth feel of LeSin vodka. With no burn or unpleasant alcohol aftertaste, this odorless, colorless spirit presented us with a dry, clean finish, reflecting a touch of pepper, and a neutral palate, making it great for mixing in cocktails, as well as straight up in a martini.
We tasted elements of warmth, combined with mineral and shale-a direct nod to LeSin’s French roots. This vodka was perfect straight chilled, and served neat over ice.
From a bottling and presentation perspective, the team at LeSin chose to take a fashion-forward approach, and focus on smoothness from the outside in. The label is a waterproofed silk fabric, not paper or vinyl, and an elongated, just barely hourglass shape-invoking sexiness and a subtle simplicity that less is truly more with LeSin Vodka.
Summer of 2012 expects the release of a few new flavors of Le Sin Vodka, included a highly anticipated sugar-free Crème Brulee vodka, sugar-free Strawberry Cream vodka , and a sugar-free Chocolate Cinnamon vodka, all of which we look forward to creating great cocktails and recipes with.
