If you haven’t figured it out by now, Super Bowl Sunday in many homes can be a fun, if not hectic, occasion. The key to hosting the Ultimate Super Bowl party? Get things done ahead of time. Like making drinks. With a bit of planning, you can go ‘beyond the can’, and serve up some seriously tasty treats.
This delicious concoction was created with the Caribbean on the mind, transporting imbibers from the wintry cold, to a warm and sunny tropical island. Made with Don Q Añejo rum, this tropical punch recipe is simple and easy to make -which means less prep time, and more time for you to cheer on your favorite team! Or just watch the commercials (we know you).
Don Q’s Orange Crush Punch Bowl By: Esteban Ordoñez
Serves: About 8
Glass type: Rocks glass
- 3 cups Don Q Añejo rum
- 2 cups Pineapple juice
- 1½ cups Orange juice
- 1 cup Simple syrup*
- One Pineapple, cubed
- Two Oranges, sliced
Add all ingredients directly in a punch bowl and stir well. Refrigerate for at least 2 hours prior to serving. Serve in an ice-filled rocks glass. Garnish with pineapple cube and orange slice.
Yields about 2 liters.
*Simple syrup: dissolve 8 oz. granulated sugar in 8 oz. hot water
