Forget prepping the turkey and mashing the sweet potatoes and head to Wickets Bar & Grill on Thanksgiving Eve for Blackhawks, beer specials and the holiday’s favorite bird in sandwich form!
Otherwise known as Black Wednesday, diners are invited to cheer on their favorite team in black, the Chicago Blackhawks, in hopes that they carry out a Thanksgiving win against the Calgary Flames. Wickets will be extending their hours from 10:00 p.m. to whenever the winning team is revealed. Hockey fans can root for the Blackhawks with Wicket’s NHL specials including $4 Coors Light and $5 flatbreads.
Guests that evening will be ‘committing to the feather’ in more ways than one with Chef George Garcia’s Thanksgiving-inspired Turkey Panini ($9), stacked with sliced turkey, homemade stuffing and cranberry sauce. In honor of Black Wednesday’s notorious deals, the Thanksgiving Turkey Panini will be half off ($4.50) from 5:00 p.m. to close.
Wickets will be open Thanksgiving Eve/Black on Wednesday, November 27 from 11:00 a.m. until the end of the Blackhawks game. The Thanksgiving Panini will be available November 25 through December 1 and is priced at $9 but will be available for $4.50 on November 27 from 5:00 p.m. to close. Reservations are recommended but not required.
