Did you know that the South Lake Union neighborhood is home to some fantastic burgers? Well, if you haven’t had a chance to swing by and try them, you need to be at the SLU Block Party for the South Lake Union Best Burger Competition, which just adds some grilling to an already awesome party. Hosted by George Motz of The Travel Channel’s Burger Land, it’s going to be one delicious afternoon.
On August 9th, $15 will get you five sliders and a chance to win a $100 gift certificate to the winning restaurant. (There will be judges, like Seattle Met’s Allecia Vermillion, but you should definitely cast in your vote.) Participating restaurants include Lunchbox Laboratory, Brave Horse Tavern, Whole Foods, Sea Star Restaurant, and even Sun Liquor will be working with Top Pot Doughnuts for their intriguing meaty creation. With that lineup, you’re guaranteed to come away with some new favorites.
All proceeds will benefit the Center for Wooden Boats, and even if you don’t get a ticket it’s worth dropping by to check out the festivities at the party, which will be kicking off at high noon.
Tickets are available now at Eventbrite, and they’re sure to go fast. We hope to see you all at the Block Party!
