Explore and experience the cultural roots and contemporary influences of Italy at the The Italian Festival on September 29th and 30th! Presented by Seattle Center Festal, it’s a chance to enjoy live performances, visual arts, hands-on activities, foods, games, and a lively marketplace. The Festival celebrates its 25th anniversary this year with grapes stomps, pizza tossing, cooking demonorations, a historical photo exhibit, and a 32-team bocce tournament.
The festival features numerous parts, including the DeLaurenti Bocce Tournament hosting 32 teams and the Historical Photo Exhibit featuring photographs going back 100 years or more. And there will even be a car show bringing classic Italian vehicles to the Center grounds.
In the kids courtyard the Carter Family Marionettes, renowned artists of Sicilian puppetry, will hold court, and the Pagliacci Pizza Toss, starting at noon both days, us great messy fun. There’s an arts and crafts fair, an historical exhibit and plenty of music from operas to choirs, topped by Saturday night’s free, all-ages concert and dance featuring a nationally-known Italian or Italian-American musical attraction. New this year: “The Taste of Italy at the Food Circus.”
