“It was an amazing turnout with an estimated 15,000+ in attendance and in spite of the torrential downpour in the late afternoon, foodies from all over the State braved the storm and ate up all there was to offer”, said Liz Rivera Otts, President of Food Truck Crazy, Inc the shows producers. “We have to say special thanks to Oviedo Mall, the City of Oviedo, Gourmet Truck Expo, our prestigious panel of judges & so many volunteers and media partners that assisted in making this event such a great success.”
The Food Truck Wars event got off to an amazing start on March 31st at Oviedo Mall. 37 trucks from all over the State competed for 5 awards. But, at the end of the day they all walked away winners. All 37 trucks sold out completely to the hordes of people that turned up in spite of torrential rains.
In addition to amazing sales the Citizens of Oviedo and Food Truck Owners can give themselves a round of applause. The Optimist Club, which is a non-profit group of community service volunteers, rose over $3,000 through a silent auction and beer & wine sales during the event.
Be on the lookout: The battle doesn’t end here. Food Truck Wars will continue, as the shows producers are in the process of locking in other dates in other cities and announce them soon.
