The child-centered health and fitness programs are designed to both educate children on the importance of exercise as well as prepare their bodies and minds for optimal growth and development. Heading up CrossTown Kids, fitness instructor Craig Franzen, certified in CrossFit Kids, will coach-lead kids ages 3-6 and 7-12 in a fun and organized environment. Incorporating specific developmental needs, including neurological, cognitive and motor, Franzen?s program will promote healthy living through skills such as cardiovascular and respiratory endurance, coordination, flexibility, and strength. Fitness and health wellbeing is a growing concern with young children, luckily there are programs that promote health and fitness. Along with scheduled fitness classes, CrossTown Kids will offer nutrition and wellness classes for children ages 3-7 years old taught by Cressie Vidro, CrossTown Fitness? kids room manager and certified school teacher. Each lesson will involve hands on activities focusing topics surrounding health, nutrition and physical activity. The nutrition and wellness classes will take place after the fitness classes for 30 minutes.
CrossTown Kids classes will be separated into two age groups and time length. Ages 3-7 will have 30 minute fitness and 30 minute nutrition and wellness while ages 8-12 will have 50 minute fitness classes. Programs will be available as: Drop-in $20; 10-pack $160; and 20-pack $280.
Classes can be booked through CrossTown Fitness? online schedulingcenter. CrossTown Kids programs begin on August 12, 2013. Ages 3-6: Mondays and Thursdays from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Ages 7-12: Mondays and Thursdays from 3:30 p.m. to 4:20 p.m.
