Craft beer breweries dot the central Florida landscape, and the 2015 Brewz Crewz Craft Beer Festival is where beer lovers can sample many of the area’s brews, as well as meet representatives from several breweries.
This year’s Brewz Crewz is scheduled for Saturday, March 21. The event begins at 1 p.m. for VIP ticketholders, and 2 p.m. for general admission. It runs through 6 p.m.
This sixth annual event will be held on the patio that wraps around the Citizens Bank & Trust Building at 402 S. Kentucky Ave. That’s right – attendees can experience the cool breezes over Lake Morton while they select samples from nearly 100 craft beers, and enjoy live music from The Detectives and On the Avenue.
New to this year’s event is a brunch from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Lakeland Brewing Company, 640 E. Main St. The menu will include traditional and nontraditional fare. Head brewer Joe Pierce is brewing a breakfast stout to pair with the menu items, and mimosas and micheladas also will be available.
“This is a great opportunity to meet our head brewer and talk about beer on a more intimate level,” says Francis Janes, co-owner of Lakeland Brewing Company.
Ticket prices are as follows:
- VIP- $50 in advance; $60 at the gate. VIP ticket holders can enter the event at 1 p.m.
- General admission- $35 in advance; $45 at the gate. These ticket holders can enter at 2 p.m.
- Brewz Crewz Brunch- $25 in advance. $35 at the door, while supplies last.
The VIP area will include complimentary food, and snacks in general admission area. Additional food will be available for purchase at the event.
“There are wonderful dining options downtown for breakfast, lunch and dinner, so we hope people will come downtown early, grab a bite to eat and then head to the event,” says DLP Executive Director Ellen Simms. “Or they can stay downtown and eat dinner afterward. Or both!”
Proceeds from this year’s event will benefit the Downtown Lakeland Partnership and SPCA Florida.
“SPCA Florida is excited to partner with DLP and share our organization’s mission of improving the lives of animals with a new crowd of craft brew lovers,” said SPCA Florida Executive Director Adam Stanfield.
Sponsors of this year’s event include: Publix Super Market Charities, Batteries by Fisher, and Cannon Subaru of Lakeland.
