The Coffee Roasters’ Alliance was founded on the premise that coffee needs to be taken back to the independent producer from seed to cup. It starts with the small family farm, where horticultural expertise and environmental sustainability go hand-in-hand. They believe that an exceptionally produced coffee is best honored with a high level of passion and commitment to quality. In that spirit, that’s why they are “taking it back to the local roaster”, where the pursuit of an honest product produces a freshly roasted cup of excellence.
“We are really excited to have the opportunity to team up with Guy Harvey in creating this coffee line”, says Joey Chase, founder of Roasters’ Alliance. “The driving philosophy of our company aligns so well with the Guy Harvey culture, that we saw this as an opportunity to do much more than put beautiful artwork on a cool bag and serve great coffee. Up to 10% of the proceeds of these coffees will go to support the Guy Harvey Ocean Foundation. Furthermore, your support contributes significantly toward the long-term prosperity of otherwise impoverished coffee growing communities in developing nations.”
When developing this blend, we selected coffees from some of the most primitive and fertile regions on earth. These Indonesian coffees are grown along high mountain rainforest canopies in some of the richest soil on earth. Most of these coffees are dried over clay, which gives them a distinctively earthy flavor and aroma. It’s a lot like the smell of walking through a forest after a fresh rain. Wild Earth highlights the eccentric nuances of each of the four coffees within the blend to create a cup of unparalleled depth and character.
A unique combination of Central American, Indonesian and Ethiopian coffees, this blend tastes exactly the way it sounds, deep and blue. Some of the coffees in this blend are bourbon varietals of Arabica from Colombia and Bolivia grown by a some of the best producers in the world. The Central American coffees give this blend a rich, body-driven butterscotch-like sweetness. The Ethiopian coffees contribute a full body and add a distinctive blueberry tone to both the flavor and aroma of the coffee.
Caribbean Blend- Medium-Light Roast
With this blend we really wanted to show the extent to which the right coffees can totally express the character and flavor of the Caribbean (much like the smell of sun tan lotion can recall a vacation). This coffee really shows the impressive range of flavor and aroma that can be achieved with the right combination. The blend practically shouts mango and lemon with a really balanced roasted nut-toned body.
Good coffees from the Dominican Republic are hard to come by; good organic Dominican coffees even more so. Nurtured around a lush environmental rainforest preserve near Jarabacoa, these coffees really do exude the essence of the Caribbean. In the cup, look for a coconut-toned aroma, light hints of milk chocolate, and a uniquely herbal, cinnamon-sweet finish.
The Guy Harvey Coffee commitment starts at the seed and ends in your cup. Our hope is that you will be inspired to become a part of the story and help us “take coffee back” through sustainable agriculture, reforestation, soil augmentation, farming equipment, medical infrastructure and much more. We call it the Relationship Coffee Program.
