Whether you like it frozen or on the rocks, National Margarita Day (February 22nd) is the perfect time to celebrate everyone’s favorite tequila cocktail!
Although most people think of limes, oranges, and sometimes strawberries when it comes to the margarita, we’re combining two of our favorite things-chocolate and tequila-for a deliciously decadent treat! Try one or more of these chocolate tequila recipes at home, and tell us what you think!
- 2 oz Blue agave tequila
- 1/2 oz chocolate liqueur
- 2 oz cranberry juice
- Juice from 1/4 lime
- 3 dashes chocolate bitters
Combine on the rocks, and stir. Garnish with a lime twist.
- .75 oz Silver tequila
- .75 oz Chocolate tequila liqueur
- .75 oz Brewed espresso
- Rim: Powdered cocoa mix
- Garnish: Chocolate shavings
- Glass: margarita or martini
Coat the rim of a cocktail glass with cocoa mix, set aside. Add ingredients to a shaker and fill with ice. Shake, strain into glass. Garnish with chocolate shavings.
- 2 oz Blue agave tequila
- 1 oz chocolate liqueur
- 1 oz almond milk
- 1/2 oz fresh orange juice
- 1/2 oz fresh lime juice
- 3 dash chocolate bitters
- Rim: instant cocoa powder
- Garnish: shaved chocolate
Rim a chilled margarita glass with instant cocoa powder. Pour the liquid ingredients into a blender with ice, blend for 1 minute, or until smooth. Pour into glass, top with chocolate shavings.

- 1 ½ parts Tequila
- ½ part Raspberry Liqueur
- 6 parts chocolate almond milk
- 2 dashes of Chocolate Mexicano Extract
- Chocolate shavings (for garnish)
- Raspberry (for garnish)
Preparation: Combine all ingredients in a shaker filled with ice and shake vigorously. Strain the mixture into a martini glass rimmed with chocolate shavings. Garnish with a raspberry and enjoy.

- 1 oz Blue agave tequila
- 1 oz Cherry liqueur
- Garnish: Chocolate Shavings, cherry
Preparation: Add all ingredients to a mixing glass and stir over ice to chill. Strain into a cocktail glass rimmed with chocolate shavings and a cherry.
- 2 oz Anejo (aged) tequila
- 1 oz chocolate liqueur
- .5 oz orange liqueur
- 1 tbs chocolate syrup
- 1 tbs almond milk creamer
- .25 tsp almond extract
- .25 tsp ground cinnamon
- Ice
- Rim: Chocolate syrup, chopped bittersweet chocolate, cinnamon
Dip glasses into chocolate syrup, then into chocolate and cinnamon. Set aside. Combine all ingredients in a shaker with ice. Shake, and pour into the prepared glasses. Serve cold, with a side of freshly baked cookies!
- 1 ½ parts Tequila
- ½ part Butterscotch liqueur
- 8 parts dairy free chocolate ice cream
- 2 parts almond milk
- ¼ part creamy peanut butter
- Rim: Chocolate syrup and creamy peanut butter
Warm peanut butter for 30 seconds in the microwave to soften. Rim cocktail glass with half creamy peanut butter and half chocolate sauce by running the edge of the glass through plates with each. In a blender combine chocolate ice cream, almond milk, peanut butter, tequila and butterscotch liquor. Blend until smooth. Pour drink into prepared glass and enjoy!
