Whether you’re planning a block party for the neighborhood, hitting happy hour beach-side, or entertaining in the backyard, these refreshing cocktails will inspire you to kick it up a notch, and add some adventure to your drink!
Cinco de Mayo Cocktail Recipes
The Mad Botanist
Kourtney Wenke, ButaPub
- 1 oz Soltado Tequila
- 3/4 oz Fernet
- 1/2 oz green chartreuse
- 1/2 oz lime juice
- 1/4 oz agave syrup
- Garnish lemon peel
Shake all with ice, strain into a cocktail glass filled with ice. Garnish.
A sublime combination of fresh passion fruit, passion fruit purée, lime and fresh mint churned through with crushed ice and finished off with Sprite is an ultimate example of Mauritius flavor combinations.
Spiced Passion Fruit Mojito

- 1 fresh lime
- ½ passion fruit
- 4 curry leaves
- 10 mint leaves
- 15gms raw sugar
- 12cL soda water
- 40ml double distillation Chamarel Rum
Cut the lime in 4 pieces. Add raw sugar, curry leaves and mint leaves; muddle them. Add crushed ice and pour the rum. Top off with soda water.
Weekend in Malibu

- 5 oz Soltado Tequila
- .5 oz Triple Sec
- 2 Muddled Strawberries
- 3 oz House made sour mix
- Lime + Strawberry Garnish
Muddle strawberries with the tequila unless quite macerated. Add ice, margarita mix, and shake hard, until frothy. Pour into a tall glass filled with ice. Garnish with a lime wheel and strawberry slice.
Ancho Rita
- 1.5 oz. Ancho Reyes Chile Liqueur
- 0.75 oz. Montelobos Mezcal
- 1 oz. Lime juice
- 0.5 oz. Agave nectar
Combine ingredients to shaker filled with ice. Shake and strain over glass. Garnish with lime wedge.
The Russian’s Cat

- 3 oz Soltado Tequila
- 1 oz Solerno Blood Orange
- .50 oz Citrónge Lime Liqueur
- 2 Dashes Fee Brothers Lemon Bitters
- Optional: Pinch Alder Smoked Salt
Shake all ingredients, strain into rocks glass. Garnish with a pinch of salt, tossed into the glass just before serving.
Orange Jalapeno Margarita
Makes 2
- 3 oz Silver tequila
- Juice of one tangerine
- 1.5 oz Lime Juice
- 1 oz Agave Nectar
- Splash of Cointreau
- 2-4 Jalapeno Slices
- 1 pinch fresh Cilantro
Garnish
- Smoked Paprika
- Cayenne Pepper
- Sea Salt
- Pinch of sugar
- Lime slice for rim
Rim directions:
Mix all garnish ingredients in a shallow bowl or plate. Wipe the lime slice around the rim of the glass, set aside.
Drink directions:
Shake all ingredients with ice, and strain into a margarita glass. May also be blended. Garnish with a lime or jalapeno slice.
Bayou Sling

- 1 1/2 oz Soltado Tequila
- 1 oz simple syrup (2:1 sugar to water)
- 1 oz grapefruit juice
- 1 oz orange cordial
- 3/4 oz lemon juice
- San Pellegrino Pompelmo
- Sea salt
- Orange peel garnish
Shake all ingredients with ice, strain into a tall glass, filled with ice. Top with San Pellegrino pompelmo and a pinch of sea salt. Orange peel garnish.
The Green Easy

Serves 4
- 6 oz Soltado Tequila
- 1/2 avocado, peeled, sliced and pitted
- 4 ounces fresh lime juice
- 2 ounces orange liqueur
- 1 oz agave nectar
- 2 cups ice
- Garnish: sea salt rim (optional), lime wedges
Rim the glasses, if preferred, and set aside.
Place ice cubes, tequila, avocado, orange liqueur, lime juice and agave in a blender, blend until smooth. Garnish with a lime wedge.
The Guilt-free Margarita
Yield: 1 cocktail
Ingredients:
- 1 oz. lime juice (appx. one lime)
- 3/4 oz. organic agave nectar
- 3/4 oz. pure spring or sparkling water (use a flavored water for an extra splash of mango, berry, or cranberry!)
- 1.5 oz. Tequila (Blanco, Reposado or Añejo are fine)
- Garnish with a lime slice
Directions:
Combine all ingredients in a cocktail shaker with ice. Shake well. Strain into a cocktail glass over ice, garnish with a lime slice, and enjoy.
Smoking in Paradise

- 1 cup fresh or frozen mango, cubed
- 2 oz Soltado Tequila
- 1 tbs fresh lime juice
- .5 oz dry orange liqueur
- 1 oz smokey mezcal
- 1 tbs agave
- Dash orange bitters
- 5 cups ice cubes
Blend all ingredients in a blender until smooth and serve.
